For Countertop Ice Machines

Step 1: Power Off & Empty
Turn off your ice maker and unplug it from the power source for safety. Remove all remaining ice from the bin or dispenser and discard any water left in the ice tray. Starting with an empty and dry system ensures that the cleaning solution can circulate properly and reach every internal surface.

Step 2: Drain Residual Water
If your ice maker includes a drain cap or plug — typically located at the bottom or back of the unit — unscrew it to release any standing water. Allow the reservoir to drain completely. This step removes leftover moisture that could dilute the cleaner and reduces the chance of residue mixing with the new solution.

Step 3: Re-Seal
Once all the water has been drained, replace and securely tighten the drain cap. A proper seal ensures that the cleaning solution stays inside the system during the cleaning cycle and doesn’t leak out during circulation.

Step 4: Prepare the Cleaning Solution
Drop 1 CLYND Ice Machine Cleaner Tablet into the water pan or reservoir. Then fill the tank with fresh, clean water up to the fill line. The water activates the effervescent tablet, beginning the chemical reaction that loosens and dissolves limescale and mineral buildup inside the machine’s internal water lines and components.

Step 5: Allow Dissolution
Wait until the tablet has completely dissolved before starting the cleaning cycle. You’ll notice slight bubbling as the tablet activates — this is normal and indicates the descaling agents are ready to work. Ensuring full dissolution helps the solution distribute evenly for a thorough clean.

Step 6: Run the Cleaning Cycle
Turn your ice maker back on and select the Clean or Wash mode, if available. This cycle circulates the cleaning solution through the internal components — including the evaporator, pumps, and tubing — to remove mineral deposits, residue, and odor-causing contaminants. Allow the full cycle to complete before moving to the next step.

Step 7: Drain Thoroughly
Once the cleaning cycle is finished, turn off the unit again and unscrew the drain cap to release all remaining cleaning solution. Make sure the tank is completely emptied to prevent cleaner residue from affecting your next batch of ice.

Step 8: Rinse Cycle
Refill the water reservoir with fresh, clean water only — no cleaner this time — and run another full cycle. This rinse removes any remaining cleaning agents or loosened debris from the system, ensuring your machine is ready for safe ice production.

Step 9: Wipe Interior Surfaces
After the rinse cycle, open the bin or ice storage area. Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe away any visible buildup, water spots, or loosened scale from the walls and corners. Avoid abrasive pads or harsh chemicals — CLYND’s cleaning chemistry already did the heavy lifting.

Step 10: Restart Ice Production
Reassemble all components, replace the drain cap securely, and plug your ice maker back in. Power it on and resume normal operation. Your ice machine is now clean, odor-free, and ready to produce crystal-clear, fresh-tasting ice again.

Maintenance Tips
Keep your machine in peak condition and your ice pure with these simple practices:
- Regular Cleaning Schedule
Clean every 1–2 months depending on water hardness and usage volume.
Heavy-use or commercial environments may require monthly cleaning. - Use Filtered Water
Reduces scale buildup, improves ice clarity, and prolongs machine lifespan. - Empty When Idle
If not using the machine for several days, drain and dry the reservoir and bin to prevent mold or bacterial growth. - Inspect Moving Parts
Check and clean water inlets, drains, and ice scoops regularly. Replace worn gaskets or filters as needed. - Wipe External Surfaces
Use a damp cloth with mild detergent to maintain a spotless exterior — avoid abrasive cleaners that may damage finishes. - Monitor Ice Quality
Cloudy, soft, or off-tasting ice indicates it’s time for a cleaning cycle with CLYND.
Eco & Appliance Care
- Eco-Conscious Formula: Biodegradable, non-toxic ingredients that break down safely after use.
- Appliance Protection: CLYND’s gentle descaling chemistry helps prevent corrosion and internal wear — preserving your machine’s performance and lifespan.
- Peace of Mind: Safe for homes with children and pets — because clean shouldn’t come with compromise.
